An easy way to get feedback and testimonialsNot only do you need to know how you did on a job, those quotes can be really helpful in landing the next project. Of course, they're very handy for fine tuning your work and customer service, too. While you can ask your clients for their opinion in person, it could be uncomfortable for them to give you negative feedback face-to-face. But by sending them a short form, you give them time to think about your questions. The questionnaire can be just an email or small survey. Keep it simple. Be sure to put a not at the bottom asking their permission to quote them in your marketing materials. Assure your client that you will not release their contact information. What if they have criticism? Be sure that you ask your clients' opinions only about things that you're willing to change. Don't ask them if they liked your price if you're not willing to change it. If your client does have something that they're very unhappy about, call them and see how you can improve in the future. This could lead to a glowing testimonial next time. Be sure to use the feedback that you get. Put testimonials everywhere you can think of: your web site, your brochure, and proposals. They carry much more weight with your future clients than whatever you can say about your self. |
